Lajitas has grown from a small hotel with a nine-hole golf course to a flourishing Resort & Spa facility with a growing club and real estate/property division. 

Lajitas arose from the past, to have an escape from the hectic pace of the city where cell phones never ring on the golf course and the only people who know where you are, are those you choose to tell.

In order to make this vision a reality, Lajitas set about repaving and extending the airport runway to better accommodate private jets, hired golf course architects Bechtol and Russell to design an 18-hole golf course on the banks of the Rio Grande, and began planning subdivision to take advantage of the most exquisite views. And since this time, Lajitas has evolved into the world-class resort with multitudes of amenities that you see throughout the site.

President and CEO, Edwin W. Leslie oversees the growth of the property, including the many separate companies within Lajitas, into a luxury development and the first resort in Texas to be named a Leading Hotel of the World.

In 2008 Lajitas was once again named as a AAA Five Diamond Award Winner for Quality and Service!
